avast! Free Settings Browser Integration
« on: May 03, 2013, 01:17:14 AM »
So... I updated to the latest version of avast! a few minutes ago. Everything seems fine. Shortly after installation, an avast! pop up stating that Web Rep is off for Chrome (or something along those lines) came up and then went away. Went to settings to check on this, and when I clicked on the "Security plugin not installed" install/uninstall button for Chrome, nothing happened. Can't be clicked. The same buttons work for IE and Firefox; install/uninstall buttons for "Ad Blocker not installed" work for all browsers. What gives here?

Don't worry about that.... you are not the only one whose facing this issue. Everyone else is facing this.... There is a problem with Web Rep only for Google Chrome. You won't be able to change that whether you update it via Avast GUI or do a fresh clean install. Web Rep for IE10 and Firefox works fine it's only for Google Chrome that's having this issue.

When you installed Avast! 8 you should be getting a notification at the bottom right hand corner saying to install Avast! Online Security. Click on that and it will install it for google chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/avast-online-security/gomekmidlodglbbmalcneegieacbdmki?hl=en

Open that link in google chrome.

This issue with Web Rep only for Google Chrome we hope that Avast team will fix this in the next update!
