more 42003 error code
« on: March 27, 2005, 08:26:57 AM »
I still installed v.4.6.623 in partition D (under W2k). Part C is Win98. And I have partitions untill [J]. All partitions are fat32 (so w2k)

Just beginning the first DOS scan in C, Avast shows a lot of 42003 errors. Almost one per file. It was impossible to continue.

I gave up and canceled the first scan.

If it's possible to explain what happens, it would be a pleasure.

Are you talking about the boot-time scan, or a regular scan (from within the Windows GUI)?

And - are you saying that only files on the C: drive end up with the 42003 error?

Thanks
Vlk

Anyway, I think it won't help that much. I hated these numbered error codes that mean nothing  >:(

Dear Mr. Vkl.
the error code 42003 begun to come at the first scan, after installed the program. It runs at the windows boot, and scans all hard drives. At the beginning of drive C, the error code appears, and after this, it appears all the time, by any partition scanned, untill I can't stand it no more and Ctrl+Alt+Del on it. At this time, program was scanning drive d:,  and file by file, the error code came on the screen.

Last but not least, as I scan all computer after instalation, in W2K system, no error code appears, and scan all partitions worked fine.

And I would like to ask you to read a new post, about problem with memory error code and ashServ.exe

thanks.
regards.
