I know avast is a free program and I respect that.

But all the same there's a lot of issues with it that I just don't have with McAfee and Norton, two other security software companies I use.

For one thing, Avast tells me when ever I go on Yahoo.com and click a trend, that they have discovered a threat.  Big red alert shows up.

Good catch but then I go to avast, and it says everything's secure.  So what the hell?

The other thing I do is, I run a scan, and when the scan is done, they have all these issues.  More than a thousand warnings and three infections that are supposedly on my computer.  But what do I do with them?  There's no status on them.

There are no instructions, I have no idea if I have to take an action or if Avast takes care of all this stuff.

I like the mac, and it's nice that there is a free security program but I just don't feel like I can trust this computer.  Supposedly I have 3 infections and avast is the exact opposite of user friendly.

Thanks for the reply.

I wouldn't know how to post a screen shot.

The real issue is, once I have infections on my computer and no idea how to get them off.  And about the big red alert thing, when I click on it, it just goes away.  So I don't know what to do about that either.

Is there a way to manage the infections on my computer?
