SafeZone Desktop: can I add new apps?
« on: June 06, 2013, 04:09:26 PM »
During the Internet Security installation the shortcuts for several apps were created on SafeZone desktop  (notepad, calculator, MS Word and Excel).  Is it possible to add some 3rd party apps on desktop?  Are there any limitations? HOW can I do that?? No instruments or help topics are found...

FYI Safezone is designed for secure transactions like banking an online shopping where security is the utmost priority.
For everyday surfing I would suggest using the on-demand sandbox.  :)
Dell Inspiron, Win10x64--HP Envy Win10x64--Both systems Avast Free v17.9.2322, Comodo Firewall v8.2 w/D+, MalwareBytes v3.0, OpenDNS, Super Anti-Spyware, Spyware Blaster, MCShield, Unchecky, Vivaldi Browser and, various browser security tools.

Nothing can be added to safe zone apart from what is in the programme, to do otherwise would negate its' effectiveness

Well, but I found a review with the following:
"SafeZone improvements
In A8, SafeZone creates shortcuts for several pre-defined apps on desktop so users can run them (in sandbox of course) while they're browsing in SafeZone. They are: notepad, calculator, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (if the apps were not installed on your computer, they're not added on desktop). You can also hide all those icons from desktop. The apps should help users when doing banking/shopping operations (they want to save some notes or calculate something, so that's why I added icons on desktop). You can also add 3rd party app on desktop as well. If the app isn't signed by a trusted authority, you'll be warned SafeZone security can be compromised."

I can see nothing in the manual, maybe it was removed as the link you gave referenced the beta version

I think the same. But...

I'd like to control what's happenning at my comp (and the desktop's happening here too). Who's desision is that I need MS Word and calc at the isolated desktop and doesn't need anything else?!

And I REALLY need to add an app there, otherwise I paid money for nothing

Lately I've got a reply from Avast support team. It started with "Unfortunatelly..."
