Issue with Anti-Theft on multi-SIM Android
« on: June 19, 2013, 04:46:00 AM »
Hey guys.

Ive been using Avast Mobile Security on all Android devices at home.

However, it seems to be almost flawless with single SIM device.

I happened to own 2 multi-SIM android, one is rooted the other is not.

The rooted phone, which is a dual SIM is hyper sensitive. Any changes made to any of the SIM card, the anti-theft kicks in without me realizing or remembering I had anti-theft enabled. Thus my other family members started receiving SMSes of a changed SIM card. Great work.

The other dual SIM phone, which is unrooted, has issues with detecting any changed SIM. Only one slot seems to be detected, thus if I repeatedly changed the SIM card on the other slot, Avast didnt trigger off any alert or warning.

How do I overcome this issue?

Hi Avast team,

Could you please let me know about this as well?
because I have a China brand phone with dual sim cards capability.

Are both sim cards will be included as Trusted SIm or only one of them?
Also, with this China brand phone, there will be an option to switch on and off etc for the sim card so I hope Avast can handle this.

I haven't install and test this but I would like to know have you test it from your end and please share us with the outcome if you've done it.

EDIT:
I just read from this http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=106173.msg844443#msg844443

So is dual sim phones are still not supported by avast? please let us know. thanks.

Thank you for this great application.

Hi,

When you say that the anti-theft feature is activated in your rooted phone it means that you've installed Avast in that device?

Please clarify that because, in the post above other member say that Avast doesn't support dual SIM devices.
