Something prevents Avast from scanning
« on: July 26, 2013, 02:49:09 PM »
When trying to run the free Avast scan, it shows 0% progress and slows down or completely freezes my computer, sometimes windows minimize or close by themselves, I think screen just went blank once and stopped responding to anything. A Malwarebytes scan doesn't seem to make this happen and doesn't find anything. What is going on?

Hey, Not a Mod or anything but you need to Run the following programs.

AdwCleaner, malwarebytes', OTL, and aswMBR.exe

Get them from THIS site only. Links here can be trusted to be Virus Free. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

Attach the Logs from AdwCleaner, MBAM, OTL & Extra's (Both from OTL) and AswberMBR.

If you use Windows 8, AswMBR isn't usable yet.

When you're done Malware Removers will be notified by a Mod.

Thanks, running the programs, what does it mean that "When you're done Malware Removers will be notified by a Mod."? What else will these logs tell you? I've never heard of these programs before and just following blindly.

Jeffce, Essexboy, Magna86 and and some others are people who can remove malware for you, and when you attached the logs they will get a message
by an moderator (Pondus, Asyn or some other moderator), they will look at your logs and can see which malware is on your PC.
And they can help you to remove it. You can see some other posts:

He has not attached the logs yet Pondus.
Normally you will notify a malware remover when the logs are attached.
