Registring Avast

I had my pc formatted. I then downloaded Avast again, but now I can not register again. I tried "resend code", but it says I am not registered.
I was a Avast user before the format.
I get the message  "The AAVM subsystem detected a RPC error".

- Which version..??
- OS..?? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP..?)
- Other security related software installed..??
- Which AV did you use before avast!..??

Already tried the resend, this is the message I was sent "Somebody, hopefully you, filled in the avast! Home Edition license resend form on page http://www.avast.com/resend-license-free-antivirus.php.
We are sorry, but we have no record in our database for the email address provided. If you need a license key for avast! Home Edition, please use this online form to get one: http://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus.php
 
So at this stage I am still not able to register.

1. Download avast! Free Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions..!!)
3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

You don't need a key, register through maintenance/registration-fill in the form and your done.

Sorry guys, done all your recommendations - uninstalled (with tool) downloaded again, still nothing. Program shows that it is up and running, but at the same time shows that my trial period has lapsed. I can not do any scan, update or anything else for that matter.
