Installing Avast on a MAC

Hi
I am trying to install avast on a MAC.  When I try to install the .exe file when downloaded, it says there is no application associated with the file.  Any thoughts??

No way, sorry. Avast HOME/PRO works only on 32bit Windows.

Thanks, any suggestion for other good freeware suitable for MAC's??
