Hi,
I have the same problem (blue screen in normal boot or "aswrvrt.sys"" crash in safe mode).
The issue started after I decided to upgrade the ASUS BIOS.
In order to sort out the problem I did the following:
1. I have taken out the HDD from my laptop and inserted in another one. It worked perfectly. I put it back.
2. I downloaded the ASUS BIOS from ASUS website. (there were 5 versions: 204, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211). I erased the BIOS incrementally from 204 till 211 using the embedded Flash utility (the BIOS versions were on a flash drive). Each time XP crashed in Safe mode at the same line "aswrvrt.sys"
3. I followed your steps :
Download OTLPENet.exe to your desktop
Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to a flash drive.
Ensure that you have a blank CD in the drive
Double click OTLPENet.exe and this will then open imgburn to burn the file to CD
Reboot your system using the boot CD you just created.
As the CD needs to detect your hardware and load the operating system, I would recommend a nice cup of tea whilst it loads
Your system should now display a Reatogo desktop.
Insert the flash drive with FRST on it
Here the steps stumbled: I couldn't get the image you presented. Actually XP went again in the booting sequence.
Please advise !
Thank you
