SVC MBAM SwissArmy belongs to Malwarebytes, do you have this installed ? if so maybe excluding avast and MBAM from one another would be a good choice.

You are getting the rootkit warning because the SVC MBAM SwissArmy is a low level driver used by Malwarebytes, as mentioned before you can make exclusion between avast and MBAM or just exclude that single path.

It would also be beneficial to all avast users if you could forward that detection to avast as a false positive, I don't know why you are receiving the warning though as many have MBAM installed here and there have been no other reports that I know of ???

Thanks once again craigb

I'm at a loss as to  how to" make exclusion between Avast & MBAM  or just exclude that simple path"  :-[

However I have performed another Quick Scan and this time no Virus Threat was found.
So should I be happy or What?????? :-\

Are you using the Pro or free version of Malwarebytes ? if it's the free version then you should be fine and if it's the Pro then add the avast program file to the MBAM ignore list and the MBAM program file to the avast settings/Global Exclusions.

It was Malwarebytes I was referring to as to "free or Pro" if its the free version of MBAM then no exclusions are necessary and if your using the Pro version of MBAM then follow the instructions Pondus supplied for how to exclude avast and MBAM from each other.

Note that you shouldn't run scans with Avast and MBAM at the same time ;)

Thank you PONDUS & CRAIGB

I am using :-
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.75.0.1300  FREE VERSION.

I've often run both MALWAREBYTES and AVAST at the same time     :o

I wonder why it should not be done ?!

Still having this problem. System is XP sp3, all up to date, runs fine.  I have MBAM 1.75 and MBAR and have been using them for years and Avast for at least a year. Now I get the hidden service rootkit "swcustcfg" error during a scan, all MB software has been excluded in scans, and the Avast solution accomplishes nothing.

So is this a false positive that I should just ignore or do I have a problem? I've scanned this unit with everything under the sun and NONE of them report this root kit.  Any help would be appreciated. I already tried the ComboBox method and that accomplished nothing.
INTEL QuadCore, 4Gb RAM, XP-Sp3, Free Avast, MBAM as needed.

Do you have the following hardware :

TRU-Install software on Telstra 4G Modem (Sierra AirCard 320U)

As this is a registry key that forces it to act as a USB modem
