That is only for Windows XP and server 2003.

Try it manually:

Correct ive got XP and brought in 2006 so i guess the server would be correct .

If you got either Windows XP Spk 2 or Spk 3 and WMP 11, try the first one. The second download is only for Windows Server 2003 Spk2 x64.

Why wouldn't it update, any errors displayed (if so what) ?

How did you go about this update ?

I have WMP 11.0 on my XP Pro SP3 system with no problems, I did a clean install of it.
