Samsung Galaxy i727 phone screen goes blank when I send a Lock Command

My Samsung Galaxy i727 phone screen goes blank, and sometimes blinks on and off for a short second, when I send a Lock Command with a message to call my house to return my lost phone.  I need the screen to stay on, like my other phone did, so the finder can call me to return my phone.  Is there a solution to this problem ??   Is my pnone broke ?
