Hi

When I recently  uninstalled the AVAST software I now get the following error message every time I boot up.

"c:\Program Files\alwil software\avast4\aswmonvd.dll. An installable virtual device driver failed dll initialization, choose close to terminate the application"

 How do I get rid of this error message? Any help is much appreciated.

Try re-installing avast! and then uninstall it again... but, this time, properly... Download avast! uninstallation tool from this link, and use this as a guide:

Do you have (or had) any other antivirus application installed along with avast! in the same time on same machine by any chance ?
