Go into extensions,  find Avast Online Security and disable it.

I assumed he was asking about the Online Security icon found at the top right of the browser UI.  It (at the moment) cannot be removed to the customization window as it returns to the UI as soon as the browser is restarted so disabling in "add-ons" is the only way.

@Pondus  - that refers to the system tray icons bottom right.
