Strange exclusion list problem
« on: May 26, 2005, 08:17:08 PM »

I was testing NOD32 a bit again and then i installed avast! (NOD32 was removed before this). No entries in exclusion list (both,Standard Shield and Web Shield exclusions). It's funny, because before 4.6.665 i never saw such thing and i regulary switched between AVs. This happend few days ago and then i formatted my disk and restored it from image (i thought that sometrhing was very wrong).
But now i see this happened again. Usually exclusion entries just appear after few reboots (probably),but so far, after 2 reboots, nothing.
I'm using fully updated avast!.

Can you check this out?
Thanks

Thanks DavidR.

Here is also an old graphic glitch in exclusions list:

The same graphics glitch is present in Web Shield Exclusions.

Add some entry to exclusion, and don't close the window. Click something else on your desktop and then go back to exclusions list. It will go blank (just visually). After you scroll it re-appears again. Same for Web Shield. This bug is quiet old and also very annoying to me. Can't something be done about this?

I have deleted all the list (see the DavidR list) except the image and audio files extensions. First of the last version I had your problem. Now the list remains ok (as I want) on my system.

Ok,now this is not an isolated problem, but something seriously wrong.
Today i have installed avast! 4.6 to friends PC (PC had brand new clean installed WinXP SP2) and guess what, exclusion lists were all empty like on my screenshots.
Please check whats going on with exclusion lists!

What about missing Web SHield exclusions (the ones that DavidR wrote above)?
Why are they all the sudden missing after installing avast! ?
I tried on clean Windows and problem persist. Same on friends machine.
That graphic bug is just another problem in this area...

C'mon, whats up with avast!. I'm tired of this. Right now i just reinstalled OS from clean clone disk image and avast! (again) doesn't have ANY exclusions. It's just empty list (both Web and Standard Shield). WTF!?

Same here Standard Shield exclusion list completely blank, now I understand why booting the system takes so long and avast almost scanning 800 files at startup.

That is totally unrelated I believe. I have all the exclusions listed in my post above and I still have around 800+ files scanned after boot. I even started a thread, but so far no solution has been forthcoming. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=14062.0

So the list is empty. What was the problem, exactly? :P
