Turn off protection
« on: October 30, 2013, 01:35:00 PM »
How can I temporarily turn off Avast so I can finish an install of a program. Avast keeps putting a suspicious file in the chest that my app needs to install.
Thanks.

right click avast tray icon....pause shields

however you should send the file to avast so that they can check the file and fix detection

You can upload files and report issues to avast  lab here: http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php  (change subject according to Your case)

you can use mail

send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
mail subject:  False Positive / undetected sample (select subject according to your case)
zip password:  infected

or you can send files from avast chest
how to use the chest.   http://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB21

I tried rt clicking on the Icon but nothing happens. I could be clicking the wrong Icon though. I open the program, got to the top of the page and click on that Icon, right? Thanks.

Never mind. I finally figured out where the tray is. Yes I see it and it does work. Thank you.
