Script Shield and Firefox 25
« on: October 30, 2013, 10:23:48 PM »
I updated to FF25 this am., but Script Shield is no longer showing any activity.  Anything I can do to fix this?  I'm still using Avast 8.

I'm not using v8.0 anymore but the web shield in v2014 shows lots of activity.  :)

Web Shield is showing a lot of activity on version 8 too.  Script Shield was showing a lot of activity before I updated Adobe Shockwave Player and FF 25 but no activity after that.

I've thought about updating but having read about the problems some people are having I've decided to wait for awhile longer.

The keyword is, as you put it, "some".
As I put, not all. The vast majority do not have issues.  :)

Same thing here since updating to Firefox 25, I'll wait before I update Avast to 2014, seeing too many issues.

Should I install Avast 9 through the program update or do a clean install?  I'm a little leery about updating.

I'd suggest a clean install.

I'm now using Firefox 17.0.10 ESR and Script Shield is working again.  :)

Just checked Software Updater and it's still showing I have FF25.  ???

Refresh the avast software updater.
Did you upgrade to v2014?  ???

I use FF v25 with no problems.

I've done several updates both Clean installs and simple updates through the UI.
No problems either way. :)

After having read and still reading about the problems a lot of people are having with 2006 and 2007 I'll just keep using Avast 8 for another month or maybe longer.  :)
