i use earthlink dial up,just wandering when does avast check for updates when i connect or certain times,i have virus defs and program update set to auto,thanks brian

hi brian,

it checks every couple of minutes till you're online,
when it finds a connection -> then it checks avast's server for a new update (Def & Prog) and downloads it if available
if no update on the servers ->  then it waits for 4 hours..
