Running Avast 2014.9.0.2008
Windows XP Pro. Firefox.
When I right click a file on my desktop and select 'Scan file with Avast' a 'Scan running' window appears but it remains at 0% with the hard drive working (at first attempt) for over 45 minutes! When 'scanning' The file name is not shown in the window it just has '
?/running'. Nothing shows as the scan being completed or any result. The file is only 800KB in size. The same thing seemed to happen with an even smaller file at 45KB though I aborted the 'scan' after a couple of minutes.
However, if I create a folder and put a file into it, then open Avast interface and select 'Scan a folder', the file is scanned immediately and a result given.
Am I the only one finding this problem? Is there some setting in Avast needed somewhere before the 'right click' menu will work correctly?
