Trojan that hides desktop icons and Windows bar

Does anyone know if there's such a Trojan that hides desktop icons and Windows bar? A friend of mine has this problem in her PC.

Most likely this is not a trojan, but a corruption of Windows. But without further information there is not much we can say about it.


If you ask a question please provided:

- Windows version
- Exact Avast version
- What other secrity software there is on the system (eg ad-aware, spybot s&d etc)
- If there are more (other) problems with the system

etc etc.

Well it's not impossible. I have seen malware that disables regedit,taskmanager,desktop right-click,desktop icons and even taskbar.
