Adobe Flash bugs and website problem
« on: November 24, 2013, 05:05:41 PM »
Hi there,
I use Mozilla Firefox as my preferred browser but have found that the Flash Payer plug-in tends to crash with annoying frequency.  A simple workaround I use for this is to simply reinstall the latest version of Flash direct from the Adobe site (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/), which takes just a minute and resolves the problem (till next time!)

For the past week, the "Install now" button simply directs to the main Adobe home page, http://www.adobe.com, instead of opening the download window.

Can anyone verify that they are seeing the same problem with the web page?

Also, anyone have any more permanent resolution to the crashing plug-in issue?

Thanks!

Do you have Avast! Online Security plugin turned on? If so try to disable it and I believe Install now button will be working fine. Looking like AOS plugin blocking it.

Excellent! Thanks Andy, problem solved...

but I like AOS since it helps prevent tracking and keeps me from dodgy links!  I'll just disable / re-enable AOS any time I need to download Flash.  Here's hoping that the avast! team can come up with a fix for this as it seems like an unfortunate bug, and it will be a major pain if AOS prevents users from downloading safe software on certain browsers.

Anyone with tips on a long-term solution to frequent flash crashes with firefox, they will be most welcome.

Cheers again Andy,
