Abortive: Upgrading to Premium; Do I need phone with me?

One of my family members is away and we share an avast! account. I would like to upgrade the Avast! Mobile Security Anti-Theft to the Premium. Once I purchase, do I require the phone next to me to confirm the transaction or will it automatically upgrade it on all of the phones? Will it just notify the phone owner that upgraded to Premium or not?
