I downloaded the latest verison of free Avast and it worked great on removing some latent issues on my computer. However, it made my latest version of Skype freeze up, which in turn froze everything until I closed out Skype. I tried adding Skype to the exclusion list to no avail...doesn't fix anything. From reading other posts I can only conclude that Avast plus Skype plus Windows XP is an unworkable combination.
Sorry Avast, you'll have to go. Skype is my priority. Maybe if your developers get their act together they can work on a fix.
