Avast and onboard windows protection
« on: January 11, 2014, 02:04:23 AM »
Hello everybody and anybody

I have installed Avast on my new win7. I am not adept at win7. I have noticed that there is an anitivirus onboard, on win7 called windows defender .

Shall I completely disable windows defender or just let it be as it has been and not to do anything about it....

I am asking because I know that it is not recommended to have two anti-viruses on your computer.

thanks

Disable it.

Majority of time it is useless and could cause conflicts.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit • Avast Free (latest stable version) •  Malwarebytes 4 Premium (On-Demand) • Windows Firewall Control • Google Chrome • LastPass • CCleaner • O&O ShutUp10 •

Absolutely agree......worthless software.
Make sure to launch into it and under Tools>Optons>Admin uncheck "use this program".
This will truly disable it.....you can check by going back into Control Panel and click on Windows Defender and it will tell you it is off.
