What OS are you using, is it up to date?
What AV are you using (I doubt it is avast as that should have caught blaster or perhaps you haven't got blaster), is it up to date?

1. If you have the blaster worm you need to visit windows update because this vulnerability was patched ages ago, there are many blaster removal tools available on-line a google search should turn up one of them.

avast! Anti-virus Cleaner should remove blaster.

I can't see how it is possible for your OS to be fully up to date and still be infected by blaster.

Use the avast virus cleaner download link I gave you it isn't very big 374KB I think.

Download the Blaster worm tool from Symantec:

FixBlast.exe:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html

Also download and run:

McAfee Stringer:

http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

Then run a boot time scan with avast! and come back and tell us if you have any problems.
