Avast Internet Security, Google Analytics & Google Plus
« on: April 08, 2014, 12:47:31 PM »
Hello,

After the recent update of my Avast Internet Security I am no longer getting tracked by Google Analytics's and any Google Plus javascript seems to be getting blocked too. It looks like Avast Internet Security is seeing the Javascript as malicious malware and blocking it from loading, hence Analytics is not dropping a tracking cookie. It also does this on Google Plus plugins on my website where they can 'Plus' my content if they like it.

I am not too bothered about tracking myself (I know it can be turned off, that isn't my point though) but I do have websites where I would like to track potential clients movement on my website in order to analyse how my visitors behave on my website. This got me thinking though that Avast is very popular and it could be blocking a big percentage of visitors on my websites that ave Avast installed.

Is anyone aware of this problem and will there be a fix or workaround for it?

Thank you
Terry
