Turning Off Auto-Renewal
« on: April 26, 2014, 03:42:58 PM »
I have just renewed my Avast license for 2 years - 3 PCs, and your vendor Digital River roped me into accepting your auto-renewal feature. There was no way I could turn it down or else I could not move forward. I read that even if I accepted it now I could turn it off later by going to Settings/Subscriptions. I was also told that there would be instructions forthcoming in a confirmation e-mail that you'd be sending me.  Well, the Settings/Subscriptions option didn't work. There was no way to turn off auto-renewal from that window. Also your confirmation e-mail never arrived.  So now I need to know from you how to shut down the auto-renewal feature. Thank you.

Near the bottom of the e-mail is this paragraph

Quote
the Auto-Renewal Plan to Avast Software a.s. (“Avast”), in which case Digital River will transfer your billing information to Avast or their payment processor, and Avast’s terms of sale and privacy policy provided to you in Avast’s reminder email will apply to each renewal transaction.

You may cancel your auto-renewal plan at any time by logging into the My Subscriptions portal (access information are included in this email or on the Customer Service Help page), selecting your product, and selecting the option to disable automatic renewal.
Click the link for "My Subscriptions Portal"  on that page will be the option to disable auto renewal

There was an option during the install to bypass the auto renewal which you may have missed. :)

How is it done because I can't find a way to My Subscriptions Portal!
thanks

I'd like to know this, too, because this is exactly why I'm not renewing my subscription.  I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere, other than to say that we can't.
