OS version: OS X 10.9.3 (13D65)
avast version: 8.0 (40795)
protocol: IMAP (imap-mail.outlook.com:993)

Mail.app and Foxmail.app are both affected.
After I turned off Mail Shield, mailbox apps returned to normality.

Please try the avast! 9.0 beta version and see if it works there. (There have been many fixes in this area).

By the way, will my avast update to stable automatically?
