Virus Chest error 112
« on: July 06, 2014, 07:31:47 PM »
Okay, so i just did a quick scan and it brought up and old file, which was actually a false positve. Since i have deleted the program anyway I thought i'd move the file to the virus chest.

It would not do it! It just said there was no space on the hard disk (112), and this is the second time i have seen this.

I am now a little concerned, because what if at some point i get a real virus and am unable to move it to the virus chest?

Any ideas??

The no space on the hard disk is a bit misleading in some cases this could mean that the file you are trying to send to the virus chest exceeds the file size limitation/s (max file size or the size allocated to the chest).

What was the size of the file you were sending to the chest ?
Have you got any other stuff in the chest ?

Check your settings - avastUI > Settings > General, scroll down to Virus Chest.

I have approx 6-7 items in the chest, nothing that would exceed the limit. Where do i find the logs to see the last files picked up as viruses?

It rather depends on what/where it was detected by.

Generally the report files for the various shields are here, C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report

This ProgramData folder may be hidden, unless you have changed the default settings in Windows Explorer - Menu options > Tools > Folder Options > View - Hidden Files and Folders
