Threat detected as soon as I open Chrome
« on: August 06, 2014, 09:02:20 AM »
Hello,

Recently one of the profiles on my laptop has been getting Avast Threat Detected pop-ups as soon as Chrome is opened then every few minutes afterwards. I've also seen it a couple times when the browser has already been closed.

The aswMBR log is refusing to save to the desktop for some reason and keeps trying to attach as a shortcut which won't work.

Thank you for taking a look!

Hi Burgandy and welcome to the forums.  :)

I'm sorry to hear about your problems.  Could you please read this post here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 and attach the other logs for the malware removal specialist.  I realize you can't post your aswMBR log, and this could be related to your problem, but please try and post your other logs.

After posting, do not make any changes to your machine or use a USB stick.  If you are on a network, disconnect from the network.  Do not sync this machine with any devices either.  A malware removal specialist will review your logs after you post them.  Thank you.

Thank you for the reply.

I did attach the other three logs though, and they're still showing that they're attached on my previous post.

I'll attach them again just to be sure. Also managed to get the aswMBR log figured out! (It saved to the wrong profile desktop.) So that's now attached as well.

Sorry about that!

I was using the other profile since that's the one that's been acting up.

Here's the new Fixlog.txt from the Admin profile.

Not a problem ..  I should have noticed that on the first log  :-[

Give it a bit longer and if all is still well let me know and I will tidy up :)
