Avast detects Voidswrath modpack launcher is a virus
« on: August 07, 2014, 02:23:51 AM »
So a couple of my friends and I wanted to play a modpack for minecraft on the Voidlauncher. When I started it it said it was infected while my friends antivirus's said it was completely safe.
Also I went on virus total and its detection ratio was 0/53.
Avast "claims" its infected with Win32:Dropper-gen
And the reason I say claims because I have used this on my other computers a while ago and it was completely ok.
Not to mention that the youtuber named Ssundee uses it.

Am I safe to run it seeing how a bunch of people use it and other antivirus's say its safe?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum and sorry for my grammar ;)

When it is the cracked launcher there can be detection for that.

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!
