The option suggested to un-tick 'Generate report file' was unlikely to have worked anyway as it isn't a screen based option - which is basically confirmed in that you didn't have that option enabled.

Is the scan, which is acting up, listed?

Getting information piecemeal is not good.

I am using Windows 7 64 Bit  no other software Program Version 2014.9.2021 and I am still getting the un named scan and full system scan

Please provide more info, OS, avast version, other security software you have now or ever had?
In uninstalled how was it removed?

Try a repair...Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>double click "avast">click "repair">reboot.

I did that this evening  so lets hope that it worked and the unnamed scan does not  show up if it soes I have no idea what to do next other then uninstall and re install

I asked the OP the same questions at the beginning of the thread.  I'm wondering if we should just have him run the malware logs so we can determine what he has since he is not telling us.
