The webshield monitors network traffic, it doesn't matter what browser you are using.

Hi,

no if they didn't improve support for plugins and such. Last time I checked (true, it was a year or two ago) it was pretty poor.

To Eddy :
I don't think so.
When I browse using Chrome, the number of URLs under web-shield keeps increasing.
When I browse using Firefox,it doesn't move.
I am not sure but,web-shield is URL based protection. It's like blacklist of harmful websites.
I hope we'll get awesome avast protection for firefox as well :)

To Filip :
Isn't it possible to merge firefox with avast without plugins ?
I guess there are other AV's that do without plugins. But,I don't wanna use any other.

Hi,

if you find any other security solution that works with Firefox, let me know :( These kinds of features usually can't be done without a support from the app side. I'm looking at the SDK for Firefox for Android and still didn't find any way how to easily communicate with other apps on the device from the plugin which is pretty much required in this case :(

I have read your reply from other thread(1 year old). You wrote there is no API for ff.
But,I have seen other AVs that have Block malicious URLs/Safe Browsing option.
They don't specify browsers. So,I guess they work with all browsers.

Hi,

trust me, they don't work in all the browsers :) For Dolphin browser, for example, you need an official addon that is being displayed withing the browser to make the functionality happen - you can easily confirm which security apps protect you there (and there are not many).

Okay..
But,if it's possible,please add this feature.
There might be something you developers can do.Maybe, try posting on firefox support forums or contacting developers.
Firefox and Avast both are top in their area.
Thanks :)
