invalid licence key

its time i got a new  licence, i did everything they said,and finaly the licence key is invalid :( i dont know why because so far (for years) I havent had that problem. i read here something about that, but since im not that good at computers, i dont understand what i should do...can anyone explain simply and step by step? thank you in advance!

avast, home edition which is free...i can not see any specific type written...(I am not so good at computers, maybe i dont know where to look)

I have the same problem. I have follwed the instructions and obtained a key, inserted it in the box and it says that it is invalid!!
Can anyone help please??

Same problem ,uninstalled avast free antivirus using the avast clear tool ,ran full diagnostics and registery cleans etc etc, still no joy ,tried it in safe mode as well . Contacted phone help, seems they were only interested in me paying for someone to check my computer , I smell a scam :(
