VBS/Jenxcus.H' [virus] detected, need help removing it
« on: September 13, 2014, 03:59:48 PM »
I have scanned my desktop with malwarebytes and after that with avira pro (trial version) and got a message that the virus is put in quarantine.
But it reappears again and again.

I didnt used this computer for some time but now i need it.
My USBs and my laptop are clean now. I got help from you guys on this forum some time ago. But i forgot to clean my desktop then. So... can you help me now, please?

Thanks in advance.

Couldn't run FRST..

I tried to run it as administrator and it says : Logon failure: user account restriction. Possible reasons are blank passwords not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a policy restriction has been enforced.

So i run it with current user. It was fine like that.

Otherwise i did everything that is specified in the logs to assist in cleaning malware.

Let me know if you can run FRST as administrator after this

CAUTION :  This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

EmptyTemp:
CMD: bitsadmin /reset /allusers

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

THEN

Download  Anti VBS/VBE to your desktop

  • download the appropriate version (32 bit or 64 bit) and double click the file to run it.
  • After a couple of seconds (might also take a whole minute if the machine is heavily infected and/or slow) a report will open in Notepad.
  • Post that report
Be aware this is a very new programme and as such is not recognised by any Antivirus or Windows, it is safe so allow it to run

FINALLY

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
  • Close all open programs and internet browsers.
  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Scan.
  • After the scan is complete click on "Clean"
  • Confirm each time with Ok.
  • Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
  • Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
  • You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.

FRST tells me you are running as an administrator

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

* IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
  • Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.[/b]
Notes:
1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.

3.  If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

Did it.

After Combofix finished it did not rebooted automatically so i restarted it.
Computer runs fine, a little slow on start but ok. I also noticed something unusual, on startup there is cmd - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Tenda Wireless Utility.Ink

Can the usb for wireless also be infected ? I Didnt think of that ..

OK I would like you to monitor it for a day or so and come back if you have any problems

In that case methinks I will send you on your merry way :)

Subject to no further problems   :)

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so..The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset  System Restore points:

Click  Start  then Run.
On Windows7 or Vista  you may use  Start Search  field if  Run  is not available.
In the box copy/paste the following command:

ComboFix  /Uninstall

Note that there is a space between "  ComboFix  " and "  /Uninstall  " .

Then click  OK  (or press  Enter ).
Wait for the uninstall process to complete.

Download and run Delfix

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

Malwarebytes.

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

I cannot uninstall ComboFix.

Did exactly like you told me but the first time i tried uninstall it seemed to me like it was extracting files similarly as when performing some kind of scan... tried again and i got some message <error opening file for writing: C:\32788R22FWJFW\pev.3XE> Click abort to stop the installation, Retry to try again or Ignore to skip this file. So i clicked abort and nothing happened. Then i pressed cancel. And ComboFix is still on my computer.

Im confused now.
