New phone ... LOCATE command doesnt work anymore.

My wife got a new phone with new Android version ... my older phone is Android 4.1.2 ... Installed Avast on wife's new phone But now she can LOCATE me but when I send the LOCATE command to her phone she receives the password and the word LOCATE ???

Is here phone rooted?
If not that can be the cause.

I dont know if her new phone is rooted or not...doesnt the provider frown on that?  I dont think any command i send to her phone is working but the app seems to be happily installed.  Without the LOCATE command Avast is of NO use to me...please help.
