Installing anti theft on a rooted device then unrooting
« on: October 23, 2014, 02:13:51 PM »
I recently rooted my phone and installed anti theft, but i don't want to keep it rooted forever. So i was wondering if I install anti theft (Rooted) and then unroot my phone, will it affect the anti theft. And if so in what way will it affect?

For anti theft to work fully, the phone needs to be rooted.
There is no reason to undo the rooting.
If you do anti theft will not work (properly) and can cause all kinds of problems.

A way to emulate unrooting your phone is to allow permanent permissions to avast anti-theft and set your superuser app to deny all future requests and turn off request notifications.  I've done this on friends' phones to give them a streamlined feel to having a rooted phone.
