This is very interesting, because in 2014 (using version 2014) I did some very specific testing myself and found that Xing out of the dialog had the same effect as pressing whatever button was the default.  I forget exactly what button it was, but I do remember definitively finding that using the [X] was NOT a way to get Avast to bypass the detection (e.g., like an "Ignore, I know better" choice would be).

I wonder if something subtle may have changed, given David's results.  Or maybe I just didn't test all the combinations of action choices.

For advanced users like me, ignore option would be handy. But i understand why it's not there.
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit. Avast Free Latest. Opera (Chromium). SpywareBlaster 5.5. Windows 10 Firewall Control Free 64-bit (together w/ Windows Firewall). HW: HP G5139sc - Athlon II X2 220 2.8 GHz - 4 GB (Dual-channel). VDSL2 Modem Router w/ Firewall. Internet 50Mbs.
