Webshield and Jdownloader High CPU usage
« on: November 06, 2014, 03:07:30 PM »
I am using a java runtime based program called Jdownloader, a download manager program.  The problem I am having is that I am getting consistent high CPU usage from Avast Service, when Webshield is on and I am downloading something with the program.  When the program is not downloading things, or webshield is off, then cpu cycles are normal.  So I believe Avast is scanning the web traffic of the program

I tried to add exclusions for Jdownloader.exe and just in case java.exe, and javaw.exe, in webshield exclusion list but there is no difference, Avast service cpu usage is high, and it seems Avast is still scanning Jdownloader's web traffic.

The only solution I have right now is disabling webshield completely, but I would like to have the protection, just exclude avast from scanning Jdownloader's traffic.

Using the latest Avast free, firewall is default Windows 8 firewall
