[SOLVED]Infected. Heavy disk usage laggy.
« on: November 07, 2014, 12:52:19 AM »
I ran superantispyware, norton 360, and mbam  with only a few cookies.  But my HD light constantly is active, very active.  My memory usage keeps climbing slowly.  When it hits 4gb  it seems to somewhat level off.  but hdd activity  never stops.. at least not for long.

I am posting the log files from the sticky thread in  hope of some advice.

Many thanks

You are a bit a bit tight on disc space on C drive, it would be worth transferring 20Gb to your E drive

Drive c: (OS) (Fixed) (Total:118.49 GB) (Free:10.23 GB) NTFS
Drive e: (OS) (Fixed) (Total:232.11 GB) (Free:195.08 GB) NTFS

CAUTION :  This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Quote
URLSearchHook: HKCU - (No Name) - {d40b90b4-d3b1-4d6b-a5d7-dc041c1b76c0} - No File

EmptyTemp:
CMD: bitsadmin /reset /allusers

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

Thank you so much for your help.  As you could see my boot SSD was almost full.  I decided to just upgrade the SSD and a fresh install of win 7 pro.

Again, thank you for your help and your time.
