Avast boot time scan: what is "Scan of *STARTUP"?

I am running my first boot-time scan since the update to avast 2015. I generally run one every 2-3 weeks
I have noticed that when I do the scan on my Win 8.1 desktop, I see a "Scan of *STARTUP" line I never saw before. I do not see this line on my Win 7 laptop. I was wondering if anyone else has this line showing up? Thanks!

That's the "Auto-start programs" area.
