? reinstall Avast, save-restore base & program

I need to reinstall Windows XP SP2 completely. To
lose of updating Avast4 Home (base & program) to me it would not be desirable. As as I should keep and how
to restore after reinstallation Avast4.6 Home Ed?
Simply to copy C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\400.vps - > D:\xxx\ and then after installation Win, Avast to return D:\xxx\ - >
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\400.vps?

You need to reinstall Avast after the fresh OS installation.
Like most applications, Avast makes changes to the registry.

As Eddy said you will need to reinstall avast! after you OS install.

You could visit the avast! web site and download the latest full version of avast home and download the latest VPS update file avast! VPS Update - Manual Download, this should ensure you have that latest VPS and program version and not have to update immediately you install avast!

Save these files so you have access to them after you reinstall your OS.

You can backup in a floppy the files C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\avast4.ini and C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\avast4.mdb to save some or your settings.
Then reinstall the OS and avast.
Copy these files overrighting the old ones.

I want to reinstall my windows and I have some question.
Where is the avast data on Windows 7 because I couldn't find data folder on avast5 folder?
Is that data including with my existing activation code? If No. How can I get my activation code so I can install it on my new windows?
