I have been using Avast Home for ages, but I am suddenly getting a RED box with the message "You are using old VPS 0535-0" yet when I go to update it tells me I have the latest.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing to no effect.
Any ideas?
XP SP2 and I have run RegCleaner recently but since the re-install

Check your system date especially the month and year, it would appear to be wrong.
Please define 'I have been using Avast Home for ages,' how long is ages, you would need to reregister if you have been using it for over 14 months.

Thanks for the date thing. I was checking the calendar and forgot to go back.
That might also be the problem as it was set fo October.
I'll check and get back here.
As to your other question. Say 3-4 years. Expiry date Dec 2005

Problem solved.
It was the wrong date that caused it.
Gold star for your sharp eyes.

If you have the latest VPS and it is giving an out of date warning then the system date is the usual culprit.
