Hard reset protection,Protection Behaviour
« on: December 05, 2014, 03:28:46 PM »
Hello everyone,
I am using Asus zenfone 450cg with Android 4.4.2  version.I rooted my mobile and installed avast antivirus and avast anti theft(rooted),
and i have problem with this.
If a thief steal my mobile, then when i come to know i will send lock, siren commands to my mobile, and siren will start, but the thief is able to do these at that time

1)he can make the volume down by using side volume buttons.
2)he can switch off the mobile by using power button
3)He can reset the mobile by recovery mode.(I am not able to backup the settings, when i go to hard recovery protection it show option jellybean,ICS,old version,i used JB and backed up settings and after resetting mobile, anti theft app exist but settings are gone !! )

I want to disable access to power button and volume button during avast lock mode and want to back up my settings.
Please help me somebody !!.

No, he can't. He doesn't have access to it.

1 and 2]
He can also take out the battery.
There are things that you can't do anything about because they are not possible.

See, a thief can't just simply remove it. That means you can still use the remote control from my.avast.com

That would be of no use. A thief can always remove the battery. Disabling the power button isn't making any sense.
Disabling the volume buttons is also of no use. Resetting the phone will set the volume back to default and enable them again.

avast is already giving you that option.

I suggest you read the manuals:
avast mobile:

avast backup quick start guide:

In my mobile the battery is integrated,so thief cant take out the battery ;)
I just want him to not able to access the power menu and volume buttons.so that by the siren and location i can find the mobile.

and now i can take backup the settings now. Before i forgot to grant the root permission to the anti theft app...its my mistake..Sorry..

Don't be sorry. I only shows that you are human and humans do make mistakes  ;)
No me ofcourse I never make one ;D
Look at it in the positive way, you now can make the backup(s) as you wanted.
