Firewall: Blocking things it shouldn't
« on: December 06, 2014, 12:35:54 PM »
Hi, could someone tell me please how to allow people to connect to a minecraft server on my pc through avast firewall, and how to also allow people on my windows 8 network to access my shared files. I have to turn off ALL avast services when I need to do these things because there is no simple "disable firewall" option.

Thanks

Open Avast go to Tools > Firewall >Settings
Tick the boxes in the green square > reboot

My minecraft server is blocked when I'm in public mode, will allowing private mode connections with friends work for that?

Yes as public mode is for when you use an open wifi connection ..  I.e. hotel, coffee shop etc.
