I Installed those 3 Win 7 updates a few days ago and had a problematic post-update restart; some services failed to start (including one of Avast's) but things were fine with subsequent restarts and the patches installed successfully. A few hours later I experienced a bizarre 'ntldr is missing' crash which required a hard restart to recover but that may have been unrelated to the updates. All appears to be well now.

I had 3 optional updates. KB3040272, KB3065979, and KB3064209. All installed properly and no warnings from avast

after viewing the details on these 3 optional updates I decided to hide them, and glad that I did based on lucD post today.

I haven't faced any issues/warnings/error messages/etc on my laptop after installing those 3 updates.

No doubt the servers are busy - in the UK patch Tuesday is on Wednesday - just leave it and you will get it in turn.

Personally I would suggest holding back rather than being first in line and ending up with a problem with a botched KB update.

Correct, I didn't check the calendar, but any case I don't go hunting updates, I let them come to me (notify but don't download or install).

Well, it appears we have two threads going.

Related thread about two windows 10 prep updates here:  https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=160717.msg1230943#msg1230943

KB2952664 is the problematic one atm.  Suggest not installing until proper fix is in place.

Well, it appears we have two threads going.

Is there a way for the moderator(s) to combine the threads ?
When I started this one I did not see the other. :(
I think this is important topic/thread that will obviously have monthly inputs. :)
It would be good to consolidate....perhaps close both threads and put this as a topic of new "pinned" thread.
I'm sure avast folks would want to see any MS problems.

14 important updates windows 7, install went great, no issues so far. That being said microsoft did try and force that get windows 10 update on me  again, even though I had it set to hidden.

had Update 1 (KB890830 - Malicious removal tool) hang on me ... avast systray icon kept spinning and spinning. Stopped installation and hear lots of activity. Task Manager shows FAHWindows64 as being really active... I'll try again to install, but would appreciate feedback.
Thanks!

UPDATE
After forced shut down, restarts, 3 failed attempts with System Restore (0xc0000022), needing to reset Avast, running scan and malware, everything is back to normal. Perhaps I was just impatient with the installation. Will try again later.
