Installed one update on Windows 7.

Microsoft pushes out emergency patch MS15-093 for critical Internet Explorer vulnerability

http://www.ghacks.net/2015/08/19/microsoft-pushes-out-emergency-patch-ms15-093-for-critical-internet-explorer-vulnerability/

I'm still inspecting 4 optional updates. I guess some of them are related to Windows 10 upgrade.

Edit:
I didn't install KB3075249 and KB3080149 (tracking, telemetry and spying crap).

Information on how to see what an (cumulative) update on (upgrade or clean install of Win 10 released on July 29th, 2015) is about here:  https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=156141.msg1244831#msg1244831

Please note bob3160's reply immediately after for those running Windows 10 Preview installations.  You won't see any new updates listed if your Preview install is brand-new and running the latest version.

I allowed all four optional Windows 7 updates to install and the Win 10 nag pop ups have come thick and fast ever since ... it's worse than Avast!  ;)

No issues with Avast! or installing a total of 28 updates on Win 7 Home Premuim SP1 64-bit.  Four of these were optional, all fixes to Win 7.

However, most of that collection can be beneficial in fixing bugs and otherwise improving the experience of using your computer. That's the main reason why it's done.

I got 7 updates today but only one was actually for Windows 10. There was a cumulative update, the MSRT, and 5 updates for Office 2007.

When Windows 7 (Professional 64 bit with SP1 completely up to date) re-started after the September 08, 2015 update (17 updates),Avast Free was disabled. All functions were turned OFF and Would NOT Start!

Either nothing happened when I tried to switch things on or I received the error: "The AAVM subsystem detected an RPC Error."  "Error during resetting to default setting The AAVM subsystem detected an RPC error."
Start-Failed, Update program and/or definitions-Failed, Restore default settings-Failed, Account log-in Failed, Register-Failed. We could not connect your device to your avast account. Please try again later.

Any ideas on the cause of the problem?

I downloaded and re-installed Avast Free and it IS running NOW!

Last night I downloaded 16 important updates for my 'A7V880' (W7 ultimate SP 1, 32-bit), but one of them failed (see screenshot 1).
After end of installation, some of them weren't important then (see screenshot 2)!!! Tricky MS! I call it fraud!

Best of all: that update, which failed, was downloaded and installed as well, after the first restart!!!
:thumbs up:
