It took around 30 minutes to find, download and install 5 updates on Windows 7.
No problems with Avast.

No problems here either on Win 7, the 5 updates were found in 1 minute.

If you have problems on Win 7 with Windows Udate ( slow / not finding updates ) try manually installing KB3172605 :

- Go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3172605 and choose the right package, desired language, and download/safe the installer.
- Open Services, scroll to Windows Update service, and stop Windows Update service.
- Now that Windows Update service is stopped, run the downloaded installer.
- After rebooting, check for Windows Updates again.

Those were the two that installed via win update. I tried to install the other ones using the link mchain posted.

You already had them installed, I'd suggest you stop playing around with your system and let it look after itself.

August 2, 2016 — KB3176929 (OS Build 14393.10) you would have already had when you installed Win 10, the other one August 9, 2016 — KB3176495 (OS Build 14393.51) would install automatically without your efforts to destroy your own system every time you touch it

I didn't get any win updates on Aug. 2 because this computer stopped working so I had to restore it back to factory settings. It was win 8 but I was able to upgrade to win 10 and get the Anniversay update. I got 3 win updates on Aug. 6.
