@Asyn, Microsoft support said it would be safe.

@DavidR,  The tech support person told me I could wait a week to install this update.

The standalone installer has been running all night.

OK, just wait for the fix from MS then. Cheers.

KB4022725...............This win update has been stuck on 19% since yesterday afternoon.  Win 10 version 1703

Anyone else have a problem with this update?

Edit: typo
No.

But when I do have problems I head over here, and manually download the full version required:  https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4022725

Save this install file.

Keep in mind you need the version of your operating system (32-bit or 64-bit) and get the one marked as 'Cumulative Update'.  Ignore the 'Delta' version.

Double-click the installer once download is finished.

A standalone installer will run and will take some time to complete.  Do not interrupt/cancel the run window once it starts.
The update failed 3 times so I'm not going to try to download it again.
Looks as if you may need to run to www.catalog.update.microsoft.com once again to fix.

Just so you know, the update in question took 17 tries to install normally (without downloading it from site above) so it is not just you.  I take the stance that once it is in, it is done and move on.

Odd.

The update installed first time for me via Windows Update without any issues.

@mchain,

I hooked up another win 10 computer today and I didn't have a problem installing that update.  Now I'm on my newer win 10 computer and the update is stuck on 0%.  I'm running the standalone installer and have been all afternoon.

Exactly what needs to be done.

Standalone installer (which is what you are running) installs the entire file, and since it is so big, it takes a very long time to run and complete.

Be patient.

Stopping this file from completing will result in a trashed system.  Don't do it.

  • No support PMs thanks
Download finished about to restart the system.

I still hadn't run the normal patch Tuesday update (I always hang back, update set to metered connection), but when I ran it manually it completed relatively quickly.

The strange thing that it had cumulative updates for windows version 1730 64bit, but my system still hasn't been offered the Creators update which I thought was 1703, so how/why I'm getting updates for that is beyond me.

@mchain,

The standalone installer has been running for around 16 hours.

I opened Task Manager, services and it shows windows update is stopped.  I tried to start it but I got this error.

Edit: Another attachment but can't see it.  Sorry about that.
