Major issue abroad - please help!
« on: February 24, 2015, 01:07:20 PM »
Starting  off I am aware I am an idiot. Not only for messing up my phone but posting this in the wrong forum, hopefully you can help me here! We have come on holiday to Japan, I thought it would be a good idea to use a Japanese sim for much cheaper calls and data while away. I forgot about the avast on my phone, it locked me out and set off the alarm. I put back my UK sim only to realise I have no idea what the pin is, I have tried several options and no luck. I have tried resetting my PIN on the website but the phone will not connect to the network so it is not getting the updated settings and new pin. I can't mark my phone as found as the website doesn't recognise it as lost (guessing that this is network related). I am completely stuck and desperate to be able to sort my phone. I accept the money spent on the Japanese sim may have been wasted but I would like to have my phone back.
Any help VERY greatfully recieved.

Thank you for that but none of it has helped, the website cannot connect to my phone, it is not coming up as lost on the website but alarms when turned on. It now has a very little signal but not enough to reset the PIN. Really no idea of what to try, can't reset it with my friends phone because I don't know what the PIN is/was. HELP!

I have got my friend to text unlock my phone, the PIN is what I thought it was, he receives a message saying the phone is unlocked but it is still asking for a PIN on the device itself and will not accept the PIN that worked with messaging. I have reset the PIN on the website but this is still not working on the device itself.

Have submitted a ticket - was just hoping I might be able to access my phone before I'm back at work tomorrow. >:(

Also of note I have read through the manual and tried turning avast off completely using my friends phone. He has received confirmation that it has worked but the phone is still asking for my avast PIN and not allowing me in.
